Welcome to WMPHO

WMPHO works to improve the health of the public in the region and reduce inequalities by providing intelligence, developing public health capacity and acting as advocates for both.

WMPHO does this by

  • Capturing, analysing and interpreting data about health and its determinants
  • Producing reports on topical health issues for target audiences
  • Developing and regularly updating regional and local health indicators
  • Monitoring trends in health and health inequalities
  • Holding workshops and training events and organising an analysts training scheme

On this website you will find

  • information on the Health of the West Midlands
  • information to support Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
  • information on events in the West Midlands
  • information on national public health initiatives
  • and much more

Mission Statement: To improve public health by making data accessible to all through providing excellent intelligence, training and leadership.
