Every Contact Counts is a web based training tool for training people to deliver brief healthy lifestyle advice. There are two modules, Brief Encounters which is an introductory training module and Motivating Change a more indepth module. The tool is FREE to use and available for anyone from any background to undertake. A certificate is generated on completion of each module.

The tool was developed by the Department of Health West Midlands and is endorsed as part of NHS Midland and Easts Making Every Contact Count (MECC) ambition and is also highlighted in NICEs Alcohol Harm Prevention guidance booklet for local authorities.

The tool can be accessed through a number of routes including NHSlocal, the NHS National Learning Management System and through the NHS Midlands and East Site.
