Excess Winter Deaths (EWD) Atlas for England

The West Midlands Public Health Observatory is delighted to announce the release today of the Excess Winter Deaths (EWD) Atlas for England. The work has been led by the West Midlands Public Health Observatory (WMPHO) on behalf of the Public Health Observatories in England.

The Excess Winter Deaths Atlas for England can be accessed at www.wmpho.org.uk/excesswinterdeathsinEnglandatlas.

The Excess Winter Deaths Atlas for England aims to support those responsible for Cold Weather Planning, and those responsible for providing evidence and intelligence to support Cold Weather Planning in their local area.

The Excess Winter Deaths Atlas for England includes a series of interactive map and chart display options for every Local Authority in England.

There is a User Guide which includes a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and definitions to help to answer your questions. A recommended method for obtaining Excess Winter Deaths and confidence intervals is provided.
