The Department published on 6th December 2012, a concise, high-level narrative on the JSNA and joint health and wellbeing strategies.
JSNA and joint health and wellbeing strategies explained aims to support those health and wellbeing boards who want to move at pace. This will help the NHS, local government and emerging health and wellbeing boards to plan ahead of the publication of statutory guidance due in January 2012.

Health Inequalities
The Centre for Public Scrutiny has published Peeling the onion, learning, tips and tools from the Health Inequalities Scrutiny Programme. The report studies the potential of scrutiny in better understanding local health concerns and sets out to demonstrate the active and vital role that it can have in helping Councils and their partners narrow gaps in health inequalities.

Health and Well-Being Briefing Papers
This series of eight briefing papers has been produced by the Regional Public Health Group, as a legacy of the extensive range of work done to date across
the West Midlands. These briefing papers are aimed at local authorities and other local partners in
the West Midlands and have been developed using best available national and local evidence and guidance. Local case studies are included which demonstrate good and effective current practice in support of the Public Health role of Local Government.
