Strategic Migration Partnership Dave Newall recently left the West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership in his role as Principal Policy Officer. Before he left, in addition to legacy work we have shared previously, he summed up the significant work completed with DH, the SHA and others over the past 5-6 years on the migrant health agenda in the region. Attached are the key outputs, research and other relevant resources including a document which identifies ongoing priorities on the migrant health agenda; a migrant maternity update again and an evaluation of his regional role. I hope this is useful as you take forward local work on this agenda. I also hope this demonstrates the added value of regional level work undertaken over recent years.

In terms of the future then Farhana Darwich at WM Councils, though not taking on the migrant health brief, would like to be kept informed of any developments on this agenda over the coming months.

In addition some local migrant health leads continue to meet and the contact for the group is Mary Tooley at Sandwell PCT.
