NHSBSP & ABS audit of screen-detected breast cancers

The NHSBSP & ABS audit of screen-detected breast cancers, which started in 1997, is an annual UK national audit designed to assess breast screening surgical performance by comparing data collected from all UK breast screening services against the surgical quality assurance standards recommended by the UK NHS Breast Screening Programme. The audit consists of three parts, the main, adjuvant and survival audits.

Each year, a booklet containing the audit data is published, with financial assistance from NHS Breast Screening Programme National office, on the day of the ABS at BASO conference each year in May/June.
