West Midlands Cervical Screening Coverage Campaign

Primary Care Trusts across the West Midlands recently launched a three year regional cervical screening promotional campaign with the slogan "Whats pants, but can save your life?"

Each PCT planned local initiatives according to their local requirements to run from April 2008. Region wide bus and bus shelter adverts ran throughout April 2008 and a four week train advertising campaign is planned for September 2008.

A website is also available and advertised for women to access further information about cervical screening and about additional local health clinics in the West Midlands which offer cervical screening. To access this website go to www.pants.nhs.uk

The overall effectiveness of the combined approach across the region will be monitored and evaluated by the West Midlands Cervical Screening QA Reference Centre.
