Regional Cervical Screening QA Team

It is essential that quality assurance (QA) activities are organised and planned with significant input from the professionals working in the service. The QA Reference Centre has established a Regional QA Team to achieve this. The Team is made up of professional staff who represent all areas of work covered by the cervical screening programme.

Their main roles are to provide advice and expertise to the QA Reference Centre and participate in cervical screening QA Team Visits. The QA Team is chaired by the Regional QA Director and the Deputy Regional QA Director is also a member. Meetings occur at approximately 3 monthly intervals. The professional staff on the QA Team are as follows:

1. Public Health Medicine Doctor
2. Call and Recall Manager
3. General Practitioner
4. Consultant Pathologist
5. Senior Biomedical Scientist
6. Consultant Gynaecologist
7. Colposcopy Nurse
8. Representative of the Regional Cytology Training School
