Overview

The Information Service utilises the WMCIU’s cancer registration database to provide analysis, interpretation and dissemination of West Midlands cancer surveillance data. Information is provided to a range of recipients: health professionals in Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), hospital trusts and cancer networks, research studies, clinical trials, charities, the media and the general public.

We provide:

• epidemiological statistics
• service level data
• patient identifiable data to authorised individuals, subject to the UKACR policy on the Release of Identifiable Patient Information

Cancer Information Service

For NHS health professionals with access to NHSnet in the West Midlands region, information is available through the Cancer Information Service (CIS), an automated interactive program. For more information on CIS and how to apply for access click here.
