Cancer Registration

Training Available from the WMCIU

The WMCIU runs a range of training workshops. These workshops are aimed at non clinical staff involved in collecting cancer data. This includes MDT co-ordinators, cancer data managers, medical secretaries and any other staff concerned with oncology who feel they may benefit. The workshops include basic anatomy, morphology, aetiology, epidemiology and data coding systems.

The Oncology awareness workshops are designed for staff requiring a basic understanding of cancer which includes epidemiology and aetiology, symptoms, diagnosis, morphology, spread of disease, treatment and a section on medical terminology.
The site specific workshops go into more detail of the anatomy, physiology and morphology of the cancer site in question, and also cover the epidemiology, presentation, diagnosis and management of the disease.
